RFID Reader Fails to Read a Tag


RFID reader always searches for an RFID tag, but never reads it for a specific vehicle/customer.

Cause

This can occur if the RFID tag is bad, the tag's placement is bad, or the vehicle's windshield technology interferes with the RFID identification process.

Resolve

  1. Look up the RFID tag to verify it's assigned to an active plan.
  2. If the tag is assigned to an active plan, select Apply Plan.

Prevent

  1. Open the kiosk staff screen.
  2. Verify the RFID reader identifies the tag. If not, it's either a bad tag, or an issue with the tag's placement or windshield.
  3. Replace the tag and verify its placement. If the issue is not resolved, contact Patheon support with the vehicle year, make, model, and trim (if available).
