Customer Notes

In Patheon, it's possible to create custom notes associated with individual customers. These notes can be used however the site determines is the best fit for their workflow and business. One example is to use customer notes as reminders to the cashier to mention or address something specific with that customer when they visit.

Customer notes can be created, viewed, and edited in both Patheon Portal and POS and are synced to/from the Patheon Portal and POS. Customer notes can be edited but not deleted. 


View

Customer notes are included in a Notes section on the Customer View panel in the Patheon Portal and the Customer panel on the POS, when a specific customer is selected. The Notes section looks and functions the same in both the Patheon Portal and POS.

Alert Terminal Type Legend

Describes the terminal type icons (Lane POS, Office POS, and Tunnel entrance) used in the Alert column of the Notes list. 

Search

Use the search function to locate a customer note by entering all, or any part of, its Site, Origin, or Text.

By default, search results will include customer notes that match any of these. However, the customer note search function also includes a drop-down to narrow a search to one of these.

Search Parameter

The search parameter drop-down allows users to restrict a search to one of the following parameters: Site, Origin, or Text.

Select All, the default value, from the drop-down list to reset the search function.

Description

Created Date/Time

The date and time in which the note was created.

Site

The site where the note was created.

Origin

How the note was created. Manually entered notes will display the user name of the person that created the note.

Alert

Contains icon(s) for the terminal types where the note will be displayed as an alert, or No if the note is not configured to alert at any terminal types. 

If sorting the Notes list by the Alert column, notes configured with the most alert terminal types appear at the top (i.e., all 3 terminal types, then 2, then 1, and then No). Within the 3 icons, they are always in the same order (as shown above). If a note has the same number of alert types, it is then sorted by Created Date/Time

Text

The text of the note. If the note text is longer than 3 lines, a See More option appears; select this option to view the remaining note text.

Open to view or edit the note.


Add

Notes can be added for a customer by selecting the Add Note function on the Customer View panel in the Patheon Portal or the Customer panel on the POS, when a specific customer is selected.

Edit

Existing customer notes can be edited by selecting the edit icon in the row for that note on the Customer View panel in the Patheon Portal or the Customer panel on the POS, when a specific customer is selected.

Alerts

Customer notes can be configured to appear on attended terminals to alert the cashier or tunnel loader to information related to the selected customer. These customer note alerts help notify wash staff when they may need to have a conversation with a customer.
