Assign an Employee to Cashier Terminal to Track Commissions

Use these steps to assign an employee to a cashier terminal. This assigns the employee to all subsequent sales at this cashier terminal, so a site can track the employee's performance, for example for commissions.

Note: This feature does not require any configuration in Patheon Portal. By default, all sales are recorded to the employee logged in to the cashier terminal.

Assign Employee

There are two ways to assign an employee to sales at a cashier terminal.

No ID Card

  1. Log In to Cashier Application.
  2. The employee will be assigned as the cashier for all subsequent sales at this cashier terminal.

Scan ID Card

  1. At the cashier terminal, scan the employee's ID card barcode. Cashier: John Smith text appears in the cart panel above the tender functions.
  2. Important: If the cashier terminal's cart is currently empty, an Invalid scan dialog opens stating "Employee cannot be assigned to an empty transaction". Select Close. The dialog closes. Add a wash or plan to the cart and scan the ID card.
  3. The employee will be assigned as the cashier for all subsequent sales at this cashier terminal.
