Patheon R49 Release Notes
Patheon release 49 includes the following enhancements:
- Sites can now configure automatic retention offers that can be provided to wash subscription members before they cancel their plans through the Patheon Essential Web App (EWA). Sites can use this to help reduce churn and increase wash plan retention.
- Sites can now create and share links to specific washes, plans, and products that customers can access in the EWA without needing to sign up or log in. Sites can use this to increase access and availability to their products and services.
- Customers can now apply a discount code when making a purchase from the EWA. This can help increase revenue customer satisfaction.
- Staff can now view kiosk terminal and kiosk terminal device statuses from the cashier terminal Wash Queue panel. This can help staff respond quicker to kiosk terminal issues, or if its in Terminal Operations mode, verify that assistance is in progress.
- The RFID scanner no longer automatically activates when an attendant navigates to the customer panel on the cashier terminal. Instead, staff can select a function from the customer panel to activate the RFID scanner. This helps reduce unnecessary RFID scans.
- Site can now adjust the RFID scan interval for RFID readers.
- Semi-attended mode is now paused for a cashier terminal when staff navigate to the Hardware panel or Customer panel. This can improve efficiency by allowing staff to address issues without disabling semi-attended mode.
- Sites can now manually reload a customer's Time-Based Auto Reload (TBAR) plan with a Reloading status from Patheon Portal.
- Sites can now manually resume a customer's TBAR plan with a Suspended status from Patheon Portal.
- Sites can now configure (for each discount), whether it applies before or after tax. This helps sites better align with tax requirements, improve customer satisfaction, and optimize their business operations.
- General bug fixes.

Enhancements
Patheon Portal
Sites can now configure a discount to apply before or after tax is calculated and applied
- Discount configuration now includes the ability to use the default site setting, apply the discount before tax regardless of the site setting, or apply the discount after tax regardless of site setting.
POS - Cashier
The wash queue panel now reports when a kiosk is out of service or in terminal operations mode, as well as icons that identify whether a kiosk terminal device is experiencing an issue
- Staff can now see when a kiosk is out of service or in terminal operations mode from the wash queue panel of the cashier terminal. Staff can also monitor kiosk terminal device statuses directly from the wash queue panel. A yellow icon indicates the device is in a degraded state, while a red icon indicates that the device is disconnected or offline. No icon is displayed when a device is in a connected state.
The customers panel now includes a function
- RFID scans will no longer trigger automatically for on POS systems in semi-attended mode when an attendant switches tabs. Staff can now scan an RFID tag on demand using a customers panel of the cashier terminal. The function at the top of the function is disabled when an RFID scan is in process or the RFID scanner is not configured, or in an error, offline, or disconnected state.
The Hardware panel now includes the ability to change the RFID scan interval
- Cashiers can now change the RFID scan interval on the Hardware panel of the cashier terminal using the Duration (sec) field. The default value is set to 5, with available values 0-90.
POS - EWA Customer App
Sites can now configure promotion offers that are automatically provided to customers who try to cancel their wash plan from the EWA customer app
- Sites can now configure automated retention promotion offers to customers. When a customer begins the cancellation process for a plan the promotion offer is prominently displayed, allowing them to accept the offer and retain their membership, or proceed with the cancellation.
The EWA customer app no longer requires customers to sign in to view products
- Sites can create and share links to products, plans, and services in the EWA app. Customers are no longer required to sign in to the EWA customer app to access it. They can now view products, plans, and services available for purchase without signing in. Customers must still sign in to make a purchase.
Discount codes can now be applied to purchases on the EWA customer app
- Customers can now enter a discount code when making a purchase on the EWA customer app.
POS - Kiosk
The kiosk staff screen's diagnostics panel now includes the ability to change the RFID scan interval
- Attendants can now change the RFID scan interval on the diagnostics panel of the kiosk staff screen using the Duration (sec) field. The default value is set to 5, with available values 0-90.
POS - Members Lane
Semi-attended mode now pauses instead of turning off when navigating between tabs.
- Semi-attended mode is now paused for a cashier terminal when staff navigate to the Hardware panel or Customer panel. This can improve efficiency by allowing staff to address issues without disabling semi-attended mode.
Wash Subscriptions
Sites can now manually reload a TBAR plan from Patheon Portal
- Sites can now manually reload a customer's TBAR wash plan subscription that is in a reloading status from Patheon Portal.
Sites can manually resume a suspended TBAR plan from Patheon Portal
- Sites can now manually resume a customer's TBAR wash plan subscription that is in a suspended status from Patheon Portal.
